  • CARE & USE

    Caring for air plants is relatively simple, and they make for unique and low-maintenance indoor greenery. Here's a brief guide on caring for and using air plants:

    • Light: Air plants thrive in bright, indirect light. Place them near a window where they can receive filtered sunlight. Be cautious of direct sunlight, as it can lead to drying or scorching of the leaves.

    • Watering: Air plants absorb water through their leaves, so they don't require soil. To water, sprits the plant 2-3 times a week depending on climate. Submerge the air plant in room temperature water for about 10 - 20 minutes once a month. Shake off excess water and allow them to dry upside down to prevent water from collecting at the base, which can lead to rot.

    • Air Circulation: Good air circulation is essential for air plants. After watering, make sure they dry completely within 4 hours. 

    • Temperature: Air plants generally prefer temperatures between 10°C to 32°C. Protect them from freezing temperatures, and avoid placing them in excessively hot or dry environments.

    • Fertilization: While air plants can absorb nutrients from the air, they benefit from occasional fertilization. Use a water-soluble, air plant-specific fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring to early fall).

    • Cleaning: Dust can accumulate on air plant leaves, hindering their ability to absorb light and nutrients. Rinse them under lukewarm water or give them a gentle shake to remove dust. Allow them to dry thoroughly afterward.
